A sustainable regeneration project for a former old colliery site.

Having secured planning permission in summer 2013 Weller Designs Ltd are designing a new 18-hole golf course at Bentinck, near Nottingham. This regeneration project, sited on a previous old colliery tip emphasises the role of sustainable thinking throughout the design process. In addition to being shaped using imported soil, a resource-efficient approach to the previous wasteful tipping of reusable subsoil and topsoil at landfill sites, the golf course will also feature a ‘water-havesting’ scheme for irrigation, as well as the proposal for wind turbines, solar panels on the buildings and ground source heat pumbs located under the golf range outfield.

Weller Designs Ltd are committed to working with their clients towards a greater sustainable golf.
