Weller Designs was delighted to announce the opening of its prestigious project and the UK’s newest golf course, Boundary Lakes Golf Course in July 2017. The 18-hole championship course is set against the background of The Ageas Bowl, Hampshire Cricket’s home in Southampton and alongside the new five-star destination hotel.

The par 69 parkland course, complete with USGA standard greens and eye-catching feature lakes, has cutting-edge facilities that include practice ranges and a golf pod.

Work has been ongoing at the site for over five years.

The Ageas Bowl chief executive, David Mann said: “This was a major engineering achievement and we have been working hard on this project for a number of years. I would particularly like to thank the course architect Bruce Weller for his design input.”

The key to the scheme was the gaining of planning permission for the importation of a considerable quantity of recovered inert soil enabling the Ageas Bowl not only to create a high-quality golf course but to have it financed at no cost.

The course is a fascinating combination of regenerated heathland to the south, mature oak parkland in the central section and a more formal styling to the north.
